Ingredients
- 1 lb dried split peas
- 2-3 qt. stock (chicken or vegetable)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 tsp minced garlic
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 4 medium red potatoes, chopped
- 1 Tb powdered mustard
- 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
Directions
Step 1: Sift through split peas for rocks. In a large pot, boil peas in the stock with salt for 30 minutes.
Step 2: Add onion, garlic, carrots, and potatoes. Cook for another 30 minutes on medium-high heat.
Step 3: Add mustard and tomatoes. Cook for another 10 minutes.
