Nothing makes me feel cozier on the inside than eating a hot, freshly homemade biscuit. It brings back memories of my mamaw serving us at her kitchen table. The biscuits were, of course, covered with sausage gravy. And there were always a few extra biscuits to have with my papaw’s raw honey as “dessert.” It was glorious!

Here is my recipe that I have developed over the past few years. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 Tb baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup butter, cold and sliced
  • 3/4 cup milk

Directions

Step 1: Combine flour, baking powder, and salt

Step 2: Add butter. Use pastry blender until cornmeal texture is achieved.

Step 3: Stir in milk until dough is formed. Knead on floured surface 10 times.

Step 4: Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with 2.5 inch circle cutter (or drinking glass).

Step 5: Bake 425 for 14 minutes or until golden brown.
